Mad Max Ben 2: Beyond Laundrodome
Did my laundry today, along with some other assorted people.
I wish I would remember to take pictures anymore, or to upload the half-a-year’s-worth that I have sitting on my computer. I feel like I don’t really use this site for anything else besides complaining anymore.
Time for some funny excerpts of page 14 (most recent) of The Quotebook! Someday I’m actually going to put this whole thing on the Web.

I just noticed that (next to the picture of money) on your original weblog look, you have the kanji for “rock” and “male” put together. Is this your way of saying “Rockman”, or is “Ishiotoko” some kind of band or pseudonym or something I don’t know about?
As for the quotes … I believe it was:
“Can you imagine the benefits of living on the Intl Date Line!?”
Not the line itself, but living on it. As we (read: I) were discussing the benefits of postal delivery.
GMT-0500 17:13:48 0501.28 (Fri)
btw, Rockman owns, and the kanji for rock and male are both rich with meaning.

Also, I forgot to mention earlier, but while I’m guessing you were going for “rockman”, that character is actually “stone”. Rock is a different kanji. (In fact, rock is “mountain stone”, with a tiny mountain radical drawn above the stone kanji. I remembered this just mere hours ago.)
But maybe you knew that, and “Stoneman” is a joke I don’t get. It’s definitely not a MegaMan character I am familiar with. 😮

While the kanji/hanzi on those splash pages is primarily me taking aesthetic license with a writing system whose syntax I barely know, it’s actually made up of:
1. Halpern #2975 kanji (YU)U/migi (hanzi you4) “right (hand)”, which appears as the first sign in words such as migigawa, migite, and usoku, which all mean “right hand” or “right side”.
2. Halpern #2542 kanji NAN/otoko (hanzi nan2) “male”, which appears as the second sign in combinations relating to sons, such as batsunan “youngest son”,chounan “eldest son” and gonan “fifth son”.
This is because Benjamin is Hebrew for “Son of Right Hand”.
With regard to the quote, it’s written how you said it, not how you meant to say it. I knew what you meant when you said it, but it wouldn’t have been as funny if you had actually said something about the benefits of living on the IDL as opposed to saying what actually came out.
Wow, that was descriptive.

I swear, you totally change the kanji just now. lmao Before, you had stone, and now, you have right.
Although I can’t explain it or prove you wrong … there was most definitely NOT a stem above the horizontal slash previously.
Not as if the above helps my credentials any, but I think you are most definitely wrong on the nature of the quote. I didn’t *mean* to say it as I told you now. I *did* say it as I told you now, and you’ve mistranscribed it. The only other witnesses being Kramedog, Seamus Riley O’Flannigan, and Turf … it seems high time to get a word from one of them. As if they would care.

Also, the kanji you have just says “right”. On reading as u or yuu, kun reading as migi. All the other things you proceeded to attach (-gawa, -te, etc.) are all other nouns expressed by other kanji.
The kanji for hand would be read “te” in this case and is symbolized … um … hard to explain … I’ll make an image! In fact, I’ll write out “son of right hand”, which is …
Migite no Musuko (ã¿ãŽ㦠㮠むã™ã“ã€Â å³手 ã® æ¯å )
The only one of those charas I can’t read is the one representing “musu”. But since the IME only offers one kanji for musuko …”
Also,, if you’re worried that all of that writing looks less cool than what you have now:
A) feel free to delete the spaces and put all 5 together
B) feel free to ignore me, as I don’t mind what you have up, and nobody else can read it anyway
GMT-0500 20:15:59 0501.29 (Sat)
Like I said, the kanji is primarily for aesthetic purposes. In fact, except for the fact that I used MS Gothic as the typeface, I think it’s fair to say that there’s no way to tell whether or not those glyphs are trying to represent Chinese or Japanese or Korean or just Lambese Pseudoideographic Gibberish.
Anyhow, all I can tell you is that 1- JEDict most definately lists #2975 alone as suitable for right hand 2- It’s definately always been a squat, mirrored, serifed ‘t’ over a box, and not a squat, serifed ‘J’ over a box, and 3- watakushi wa kioku ga tashika naraba, both of the current purveyors of the Han Ideographic set frequently take the key glyphs from existing phrases to make new ones.
I want to see what you amke of the other ones on the original splash screen! See if you can figure them out or whatever.
GMT-0500 20:29:03 0501.29 (Sat)
Most of the ones I can read are okay. (Example, for Extras, you had “Text” to the side in English, and the kanji you wrote were for “Book” and “Sentence/Literature” (depends on the context), so I would assume “book sentences” is a fair way to say text.)
I can’t read many of them due to the fact that I can recognize one character but not the other.

Quotes from book good, real good. I like them more better than Strong Bad. They have a sort of “Laron Like” quality to them, don’t you think?
Everyone still looking for his replacement.
“BennnyFactor” is a great handle…..
