Yeah! What! Okay!

Today, after posting that thing about the pimp tax, I must have had that fabulous testament to the fine arts, Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz, on the brain.
You see, I hate myspace. I think it’s stupid, and ugly. Isn’t social networking supposed to be the focus of this “Web 2.0” malarkey? Why, then, instead of the clean, sleek and otherwisely visually-appealing layouts of places like last.fm and facebook or even Google maps, does myspace serve up something that is an AJAX version of a geocities page from the late 90s — awful, garish and illegible colors, table-heavy layouts, and crappy music set on autoplay? It’s pathetic.
Anyhow, I thought to myself this morning, “hmm, I wonder if Lil’ Jon has a myspace profile?” Well, ladies and gentlemen of the interweb jury, he does. And, despite it featuring every thing I hate about myspace, I suggest you go visit his page, “Lil’ Jon World”. He has some enjoyable pictures of him posing with the Stanley Cup, an object that makes his gaudy displays of conspicuous consumption — icy chains, grills, and pimp cups — look like something from icedoutgear.com.
However, why I’m really writing this is to share a video he linked to. Apparently taken by a US Marine in Iraq, it’s two guys, Saafi and Kasim, doing an impromptu rendition of that perennial favorite and classic club tune, “Yeah,” by Usher feat. Ludacris, Lil’ Jon and the Eastside Boyz.
Here’s the link. I’m glad to know that people across the world now know how to get crunk.
