I’m from Texas, ho!

We (that is, the Harding Academic Team) are here in Denton, TX where we just got 4th place (though, that at the end of the 11-round round-robin competition I was 6th overall individually) .
I’ve kind of forgotten about Texas, but being here has given me a quick reminder of how things are down here. Like Black-Eyed Peas, Farm to Market road designations, those little white bump reflectors in the road instead of lane lines, and the TEXAS FLAGS A PLENTY, vavy (and they are’t even billowing, hah!).
I’ll write more interesting things later, got to go eat dinner nowish.

Would you say Tejas is a different country unto itself? There’s a pretty girl from Texas in my lab class who argues for Yes, but that sounds so Sam Houston to me. Isn’t Texas an assimilated state of the union with a flavor all its own (àla California and New York)? Or would you say stepping into Texas really is like stepping into a whole other country?
