Tetnatative Schedule Super Go

Jump to Comments Well, it’s that time again, where Benny fills out some paperwork and enrolls in classes again. Eventhough I know the major part of my readers go to Purduesky and not Harding, I’m gonna post it.
1045 M W F FR-H 202 GANB 111 MCCREADY
1145 M W F SPAN 402 GANB 112 CONLEY
1300 M W F POLS 351 GANB 125 ELROD
0945 T R POLS 205 GANB 202 OLREE
1300 T R BNEW 317 MCIN 353 COCHRAN
Yeah, if you’re keeping score with these things, I’m sure it looks like there’s about ten professors at Harding. Trust me, there’s plenty, it’s just that, like, Mrs. Conley and Dr. McCready teach all the honors and quality upper-level foreign-language classes (Spanish and French, respectively) and Dr. Elrod is the best ever. So is Dr. Cochran. I’ll have to take some other professors for stuff eventually. I guess. Otherwise, my junior and senior years are going to be chock full o’ Elrod, since I’m taking aorund 3 Poli sci classes each semester.

And since I know you’re all absolutely dying to know what those arcane class abbreviations stand for, here’s another list:
1045 M W F Honors French II part 2 / McCready
1145 M W F Peninsular Spanish Literature part II (19th & 20th C.) / Conley
1300 M W F International Law and Diplomacy (Sit around in the Ganus lounge discussing essays again, perhaps?) / Elrod
0945 T R American National Government / Olree
1300 T R Gospel of John (his signature class) / Cochran
Oh, also, here’s an IM conversation between Matt and myself:

[Matt]: In other news, your favorite towel-wearing Palestinian might be brain dead.
[Ben]: I know, man.
[Ben]: The saddest thing is that the last video footage I’ve seen of him (getting on a military helicopter), he was wearing a Khruschev number on his head.
[Matt]: What’s that?
[Ben]: I was refering to that one winter hat that Kruschev used to wear that wasn’t an ushanka.
[Ben]: It was like a Shake and Steak hat, but made out of fur instead of paper.
[Matt]: I have never seen this.
[Ben]: Hmm…
[Ben]: Have you seen Ronin?
[Matt]: Yeah.
[Ben]: Okay, you know at the begining, in Paris, where they’re buying arms?
[Matt]: Sorta.
[Ben]: And there’s the mercedes under the bridge under the Seine?
[Ben]: And the old guy gets out of that car (before everrybody starts shooting)?
[Ben]: Yeah, he’s wearing one of these things.
[Matt]: Yeah I totally do not remember the specific details of that scene ๐Ÿ™‚
[Ben]: Well…
[Ben]: Just go to CNN or Yahoo and look up Arafat!
[Matt]: http://i.a.cnn.net/cnn/interactive/world/0410/gallery.arafat/arafat04.afp.jpg ?
[Matt]: http://i.a.cnn.net/cnn/interactive/world/0410/gallery.arafat/arafat05.afp.jpg !
[Ben]: Yeah, where he’s getting on the ‘copter.
[Matt]: That does look like a steak & shake ushanka.
[Ben]: See, it’s awesome, except it’s not THE DISH TOWEL!
[Matt]: Yeah.
[Ben]: I think you should put that last one in your image rotator.
[Matt]: But it’s not funny enough–
[Matt]: on a scale of 1-100 images in rotate.php must meet a minimum requirement of 85.
[Matt]: The arafat thing is like a 70.
[Ben]: Oh well.

  • Seriously … I’ve wanted one since 2002. Is it so much to ask? But … I guess it is, lol. Anime, manga, and other stuff comes first. Then maybe if I head over to Japan … I can then hop over to Vladivostok and buy one … or something.

  • I’m sure you would do really well wandering Vladivostok in search of an ushanka.

  • Uh … ushanka, spaciba! Ushanka, spaciba? Ushanka — (gets arrested and dragged off)

This is why you should take Russian next term. I’ll get us through Japan, and you can get us through Russia. Or something.

  • Russian 101 is probably only taught in fall ๐Ÿ™

  • If you tell the teacher that you love all of the Matryoshkas (dunno how that’s written in Cyrillic), she’d probably sign you in to a special seating of 101. God only knows she puts them EVERYWHERE to advertise for Russian 101 and 102. ^_^; I get the feeling that they are the smallest foreign language program … well, maybe a mite larger than Arabic.

More realistically (and quasi-on-topic), what language will you be doing, Matt?

And what is your major again, Ben? I could see you going in so many directions based on the classes you’ve told us over the past 1.5 years.

  • Spanish and Political Science.

  • i’m taking fr202 next semester just to get my language req out of the way ๐Ÿ™

  • We can be study buddies! Not really.

  • I’m taking Biomechanics of Hard and Soft Tissues and Governments of Post-Communist Nations next semester, who wants to study with ME?
