Pronunciation Guide
This dictionary uses two different methods of showing pronunciation: IPA renderings in brackets (e.g., [ˈpænts]), and Lamb Standard Rendering (LSR) in parentheses (e.g. (pants')), in addition to syllabication (e.g. mo·ther). Since many browsers and operating systems do not properly display unicode, some IPA symbols may be missing.
The IPA renderings and the IPA chart above are adapted from The University of Chicago Spanish Dictionary Fifth Edition (New York: Pocket Books, 2002) and the World Book Dictionary (Chicago: World Book, Inc., 1998).
